On July 23, 2024, the National Executive Board (NEB) of the APWU decided to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the candidate for the next President of the United States.

APWU recognizes that our members hold a variety of political beliefs and respect each individual member’s right to choose how they will vote. We encourage all members and their families to make informed decisions, considering the issues that directly impact our work, our rights, and our future.

In this election, there is a clear choice. Vice President Harris has shown consistent support for union rights and the welfare of working families. In contrast, former President Donald Trump's record includes policies that threaten the wellbeing of the Postal Service, workers' rights, living wages, and essential social programs like Social Security and Medicare.

We will continue to share assessments of candidates up and down the ballot based on the issues that affect APWU members as election day draws near.

This election will have far-reaching consequences for our jobs, our union, and the future of the public Postal Service. We encourage every member to engage in this important election and consider the issues that matter most to our union and our collective well-being.

    In solidarity,
    The American Postal Workers Union
